Delivered by Elite Sector Professionals with Real Operational Expertise
Strong, confident leadership is essential for delivering safe, effective and child‑centred residential care. Anchor Social Care provides specialist mentoring for Registered Managers and Responsible Individuals delivered by elite professionals who have successfully led, managed and improved services across the sector.
Our mentors are experienced Responsible Individuals, Registered Managers of Outstanding homes, Operational Managers and Service Managers. They bring deep regulatory knowledge, lived experience and a reflective, supportive approach that strengthens leadership capability and improves outcomes for children.
Nature and Scope of Mentoring
Anchor mentoring is a professional development and advisory service. It is designed to enhance leadership confidence, regulatory understanding and operational decision‑making. It is not a substitute for line management, formal supervision, performance management or organisational governance.
Mentoring sessions may include reflective discussion and support in areas such as:
- Leadership and management development
- Safeguarding oversight and risk‑based decision‑making
- Regulatory requirements and Ofsted readiness
- Quality assurance and governance
- Regulation 44 and Regulation 45 learning
- Workforce development and supervision quality
- Action planning and service improvement
- Professional confidence and complex decision‑making
Each mentoring relationship is tailored to the role, experience and development needs of the mentee, and aligned with the priorities agreed with the Client.
Where helpful, sessions may include review and discussion of documents or practice examples provided in advance. These will be considered within the booked mentoring time. Substantial audits, report writing, policy development, mock inspections or consultancy tasks are not automatically included and may require a separate agreement or additional fee.
Mentors may offer advice, professional challenge, examples, tools and suggested actions. Responsibility for operational decisions, statutory duties, regulatory compliance and implementation remains with the Client and the relevant registered or responsible person.
Delivery Arrangements
Mentoring is delivered in one‑hour sessions, either remotely or face‑to‑face as agreed.
- The number of mentoring hours per month will be confirmed before commencement.
- Regular time slots can be reserved to promote consistency and continuity.
- Where appropriate, brief agreed actions may be recorded following a session.
Mentoring is not intended to replace the Client’s statutory or organisational supervision records.
